SUMC Occasional Choirs - directed by Matthew J. English

• "Voices of Youth" Choir - rehearsing during Sunday School, the children/youth choir offers worship music 3-4x a year
• Adult Cantata Choir - Our "seasonal" adult choir rehearses at 9:30am on (most) Sundays
• Handbell Ringers - the handbell ringers offer worship music 2-3x a year, and rehearse as needed
• Children's Handbell Choir - NEW!...offering music 2-3x a year in worship.

SWARTHMORE UMC PIPE ORGAN

In 1963, a Casavant Freres Ltee (Opus 2714) Organ was installed and commissioned for use in the sanctuary. It has 45 ranks. 2,419 pipes. 4 divisions. 3 manuals. 32 stops. 33 registers

In 1987, a 61-note unit Trumpet stop was added available on the Great at 8', Pedal at 8', Positiv at 8' & 4' and a tremulant added to the Positiv.

Choral Scholars Program - in development

• SUMC is developing a choral Scholar program in honor and memory of beloved choir members, ensuring music excellence at SUMC for years to come. The choral scholar program provides opportunities for a young people and/or college students to sing (as a soloist and section leader), develop new skills (conducting, teaching, composing), and defray the cost of their education.
